One Brand Favourites: Marcelle

About a year ago, I was on the hunt for a new Micellar water and picked up one from Marcelle on a whim. Since then, Marcelle has become one of my favourite brands for both skincare and makeup. The more I've been looking into this brand, the more I want to try from them. Their products are not tested on animals, are perfume free and hypoallergenic, which is a huge plus for someone like me, who has sensitive skin. They're also a Canadian brand, so they're fairly accessible at the drugstore here in Canada. These are the products from Marcelle that I use the most (even though there are still a lot of things I haven't tried yet but I'm looking forward to!) Rouge Xpression Lipstick I own 2 of these lipsticks and I'm dying to buy some more. They're extremely pigmented and long lasting, but also feel so hydrating on the lips. I feel like the packaging on them isn't the best (it feels a bit cheap), but don't let that deter you! These are fantastic q

First World Problems: Canadian Winters, A Poem

Oh  My  God It's so cold.  Going outside is physically painful.  Why did I get out of bed?  My car won't start, my coffee is already cold Everything is white Everything is slippery I'm tired of shovelling And wearing 10 layers of clothes And still being cold  Why is it so cold in my house?  Will I ever be warm?  What does it feel like to be warm?  Okay in all seriousness, it's freezing outside. I'm the kind of person who is always cold, no matter what the season, so this is just unbearable and I'm already dreading the thought of going outside tomorrow.  Wish me luck!

Wanderlust Wednesday

I've made a Wanderlust post in the past and it was one of my favourites ever, so I thought I'd make another one! I've collected a bunch of pictures of some of the most beautiful places on Earth for you all to enjoy. I honestly cannot wait to be done with my studies to be able to go and travel to some of these beautiful destinations. I'm already in love and I haven't even been there yet! Let me know which ones you think are the most awe inspiring and also let me know your #1 dream vacation destination would be! I'd love to hear.

Why I Chose Nursing

Note: Before I begin, for anyone not familiar with the education system in Canada, specifically Quebec, we have 5 years of high school, followed by CEGEP (2 years for a pre-university program or 3 years for a career program), and then university. Why did I choose Nursing. It's a question at least one teacher a semester asks us to share with the class to get to know us. It's a question friends, family and acquaintances ask me all the time. It's a question I ask myself when I'm up at 4am studying or dealing with a particularly difficult clinical assignment. The past year and a half has been a total whirlwind of confusion, leading to choosing this career path, leading to the intense studying that comes with it. So why did I choose Nursing? Like the majority of people my age, I was totally lost. Growing up, I was always that kid who would "probably end up in medical school". I wasn't even sure myself but figured I'd end up doing something in the sci

Hidden Treasures

Last weekend, my family and some friends went up to Val-David, Quebec and went to this cute little cafe called C'est la vie   which I just loved. I've been looking for a place like this for so long and I'm so thrilled that I found it! Its so quaint and cozy and the atmosphere was just amazing. The staff was so friendly and the food was delicious!  I ordered a mochacinno and a "Julie" panini which had honey chicken, brie and spinach. They were both sooo good, and they were so pretty I almost didn't want to try them! (so I took pictures haha)  All their drinks were decorated with little hearts on the foamy part which I thought was so cute!  We had the choice to either sit on the big Adirondack chairs at the front of the cafe, on the terrace under the big shady umbrellas or inside the actual cozy cafe. Its really a great place to go when the weathers nice. Overall, I loved this place so so much and I'm definitely going to go back whene
