July Favourites!

Happy August everyone! Here's what I loved this month! There isn't much, since I've mostly been using the same things I loved from June, but there are a few new things! Enjoyyy!

Maybelline 'The Colossal Volum Express' mascara
This mascara is wonderful. I picked it up after not having used it in a while, after I ran out of my Too Faced 'Better Than Sex' mascara so it had some big shoes to fill, but I honestly have grown to love this one so much. Its not the most volumizing of mascaras that I've used, but it really lengthens your lashes in a way that looks very natural, almost to the point that you look like your wearing false lashes. Its so great!

Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in 'Elusive'
This is my go-to lip colour when I'm going out in the summer. Its so cute and summery, I honestly love wearing it. The lasting power is surprisingly long and even though its matte, it doesn't cling to any creases or dry patches on your lips. I would recommend exfoliating your lips before using a matte lip product, but if you're running late or just want something to pop on your lips, I wouldnt worry too much about this one. A must have for everyone.

Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration After Sun lotion
I've been spending more time in the sun this month and its finally gotten really hot and sunny here in Canada. After spending some time outside in the sun, I love to use this product. It has everything you could ever want. It smells incredible, it contains aloe which is so soothing and cooling to the skin, and it has ribbons on moisturizer which keeps your skin nice and soft. I'm leaving for vacation in a couple weeks and this is the first thing I'm packing in my bag!

Tangled by Carolyn Mackler
This was such a sweet, interesting read. If you're looking for a lighthearted page-turner to read by the pool or on the beach, this is it. I have a full review on my book blog, which you can read here. I highly recommend it!

Nike Free 5.0 running shoes
I bought a new pair of running shoes, and I am so in love with them, its almost ridiculous. I have never worn a more comfortable and supportive shoe in my life. Plus, they're bright pink. Whats not to love? The picture truly does not do them justice.

I had my eye on this cute little bag and to my surprise, it was on sale for 50% off, so obviously I couldn't resist... I've been using this so often, especially on days when I would normally take a purse but have a few extra things that would either make it too heavy or wouldn't fit. Its so pretty and it just might be my favourite purchase of the month (along with my Nikes of course!)

What did you guys love this month? Let me know!

Review: Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter

I picked up this lip butter when I had taken a trip to the drugstore looking for a nice orange lipstick. I've currently been lusting over MAC's "Morange", but i decided against buying it the last time I was at a MAC counter since I didn't want to spend too much money! Anyway, I saw this in the colour "Tutti Frutti" and I decided to give it a try.

I'll be honest, initially I was quite disappointed with this product. Although it is a lip butter, when I swatted it, it came out quite bright and pigmented. On my lips however, it came out quite sheer and only gave the slightest hint of colour. Also, if your lips are just the slightest bit dry, it just settles into the cracks and makes it look more obvious.

Once I got past these inconveniences, I can say that for a lip butter, this product isn't too bad. It feels nice on the lips and the sheer hint of colour is nice for days when you want a more subtle lip. I probably wouldn't repurchase this exact one, I may go back to purchase this in the colour "Red Velvet" (a nice, deep red colour) which I swatched and quite liked.

Also, I quite liked the packaging of this lip butter, I thought it was very cute, but it is a little hard to pull open (is it just mine?)

Let me know what you think of this if you've tried it! :)
