Best of Summer 2017: The Green Beaver Natural Deodorant Review

Okay, so lets talk deodorant. We all use it but we don't discuss it enough.

I've never been particularly loyal to any brand of deodorant. I picked out a new one basically every time I ran out of the one I used before. I wanted to get into trying a natural deodorant but I had the two basic worries I think most people have when it comes to these kinds of products;
1) Will it really work?
2) Which one should I try?

Luckily for me, I was sent the Natural Deodorant from the Green Beaver Company in a blogger box a little while back, so I didn't have to look too far. I decided to give it a shot, figuring I had nothing to lose.

Okay, but, this stuff is AMAZING. Here's why:

Firstly, Aloe Juice is one of the first ingredients in this deodorant, which means it feels super cooling when you apply it, which is so nice in the summertime!

It's also a clear, gel-like formula, so no need to worry about white marks on your black clothes. Yes, please.

I was a bit worried about the Lavender scent, since I find many lavender scents to border on old-lady smelling, but this one is very refreshing! It's nothing like I've ever used before, and I'm kind of obsessed.

Here's the deal: you will still sweat while using this. It is not (and does not claim to be) and antiperspirant. That's what makes it good for you; it's not clogging up your sweat glands and all that bad stuff. However you won't smell bad, which is what really matters.

Honestly, even though it's not an antiperspirant, I actually found that this product did minimize sweat a little bit. Obviously if you're sitting out in the sun or running a marathon, you wont exactly be bone dry, but I did notice a difference while wearing this compared to when I was not.

The Bottom Line: If you're also looking to make the switch to a natural deodorant, I absolutely recommend this one. I'm actually pretty shocked that I love it so much, and I think (gasp!) for the first time, I'll be repurchasing the exact same deodorant once this one runs out!

Review: Acure Aromatherapeutic Moroccan Argan Oil

My skin is going through a phase. It is drier than the desert in July and I've been trying my best to rehydrate it, which means I've tested out a TON of products in the past couple weeks, which of course I will review for you all. Today we're talking about the  Aromatherapeutic Moroccan Argan Oil from Acure, in the rose scent.

I am someone who swears by oils. Be it for my skin or my hair, I'm a huge believer in the benefits of using an oil to solve any of your dryness issues. This oil is a nice one. While it is argan oil, I find it has a subtle citrusy lemongrass scent (even though it says that it's rose scented!)

Alright so let's talk about what makes this oil great;

  • Lightweight and quickly absorbed
  • Multipurpose: works great in hair, on cuticles, and on any dry areas of the skin
  • Scent is subtle and fades away after a while
  • Suitable for sensitive skin
  • Organic, Vegan, Cruelty Free, Sulfate Free and Paraben Free
Honestly this is great stuff to have in your stash because of the versatility of it, I use it on my cuticles before doing my nails, I mix it into my moisturizer to add extra moisture and I use it in the tips of my hair as well for added softness. It's also great on dry elbows, knees and heels.

Highly recommend this (and I believe it's quite affordable too! around $13).

 The first thing that stood out to me in thebox was the Calendula Intensive Skin Recovery cream. This is the one Weleda product I've tried in the past, and I'm in love with it. I'll be posting a full review about it soon, but trust me, this stuff is miraculous.
 Next up are these 3 Evening Primrose products; The Age Revitalizing Day and Night Creams, as wellas the Revitalizing Body Wash. I'm very excited for these as I'm always on the hunt for a great night cream.

Review: Trying Out Acure Products

A little while back I was sent a lovely box of natural products from M Squared Brands (you can check out the entire haul here). Three of the products were from Acure Organics, a brand that I definitely invite you to check out (if you haven't already!). Their range of products look incredible, and I'll definitely be picking up some more stuff from them. All their products are gluten, paraben, sulfate, phthalate, harmful preservative and artificial colour free too!

The first product of theirs that I picked up right off the bat was the Lavender Calming Body Lotion. This is such a nice lightweight moisturizer that absorbs extremely quickly. It's a great one to just throw into your handbag. I personally like to keep on my bedside table because the lavender scent is so nice and soothing to use before bed!
The Quick Fix Correcting Balm with argan oil and starflower is such a great product to use now in the winter, I've very quickly incorporated it into my daily routine. It has a thick, Vaseline type consistency that quickly melts into a luxurious oil that your skin just drinks up. The great thing about this is that you can use it basically anywhere. I like to use it on my hands and cuticles before doing my nails, as well as my heels which can get pretty rough during the winter.
Their Aromatherapeutic Moroccan Argan Oil is probably my favourite product of theirs that I was sent! I have the Rose scented one, but it also comes in a Citrus-Ginger scent and a Coconut scent as well! I like to apply this to my elbows and knees as well as to my hands and feet before a manicure or pedicure. It smells so lovely but it's also a really effective product.

The winter has been so harsh to my skin this year but since I've been using these products, I've been extra soft! I'll definitely be checking out more products from Acure after seeing how much I've loved these.

Have you tried any products from Acure? Let me know in the comments below!

Natural Beauty Haul: Blogger Box from M Squared Brands

I've always been interested in delving into the world of natural beauty and skincare products, but I've never been too sure where to start. Fortunately for me, M Squared Brands sent me this lovely package filled with some amazing looking natural products that I cannot wait to review for you all! I've been trying out a lot of them since the package arrived, but I'll wait until I've formed concrete opinions on each before reviewing!
I got quite a few products from the brand Acure, which I am excited to try out. I haven't yet tried out the Aromatherapeutic Moroccan Argan Oil but how amazing does that sound? I'll definitely be trying that one out very soon. The packaging on these products are also super cute! I also receieved the Lavender Calming Body Lotion and the Quick Fix Correcting Balm.
As someone who suffers from eczema, I was immediately drawn in by the Calendula Intensive Skin Recovery cream from the brand Weleda, and it's been the one item from the box that I've used the most consistently thus far. I'll definitely be doing a blog post on this product in the near future! I also received a body spray/perfume from them as well, in a citrus scent!
I was also sent peppermint gum from the brand Spry, a travel toothbrush from the brand Radius, a deodorant stick from the brand Lafe's and some lip balm from the Green Beaver Company, all of which I'm excited to test out. I've always been curious to switch to a natural deodorant, so I'm hoping this one is good! The lip balm as already found its place in my purse. Spoiler: it is really really good!

Expect a review on each of these products in the very near future!
Happy Friday!
