L'Oreal Private Sale Haul!

Hey everyone! A while back I had a chance to go to the L'Oreal Private Sale, which essentially is a huge invite-only warehouse sale that happens twice a year, including all brands under L'Oreal. I love these sales because 1) you can find amazing deals on products you love and 2) you can pick up products you've been curious to try for a discounted price. Anyway, here's what I picked up!:  L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadows: It's no secret that I'm obsessed with the formula of these eyeshadows, so I always make a point to pick up a couple every private sale I attend. I picked up the shades: -Pepsy Coral -Endless Chocolat -Goldmine -Purple Obsession  I also picked up the Dermablend Corrective Compact Cream, since I've been looking for a fuller coverage foundation lately that would suit my sensitive skin. I wanted to buy the liquid foundation but they didn't have one light enough for my skin tone at the sale, so I picked up the one in the compac

My Spring Makeup Essentials: Pink

As soon as spring rolls around, my makeup looks tend to shift to the more pink side of things. I've really been loving the monochrome makeup trend these days because rosy eyeshadow and pink lips are right up my alley. If you're like me and you love these kinds of looks, here are my favourite makeup products that you need in your life, like, yesterday. Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette I whip out this palette for almost every eyeshadow look I ever do. It is just a must have. Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette I waited on picking up this palette for a long time but I finally bit the bullet and went for it. Obviously I love it. If you're like me and you love pink-toned makeup looks, don't hesitate on picking up this palette. Maybelline The Blushed Nudes Palette  If you're looking for a more affordable palette that still packs a punch, I highly recommend the Maybelline Blushed Nudes palette. The metallic shades in this are so freaking gorgeous, it blows my mind.

Spring 2017 Project Pan!

Hey everyone! So I really enjoyed my Winter project pan and since I have SO many products in my collection that either need more love or need to be used up ASAP, I decided I'll be doing a project pan with a different selection of products every month. Here's what I chose for Spring 2017! Of course, I'm bringing back the Nyx Prismatic Eye shadow in 'Girl Talk' , since that was the one product in my last project pan that was pretty neglected. Hopefully I can get some good use out of this one this time around! The big one for this project pan is my Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette . This was my favourite palette EVER, but since I've purchased so many palettes in the past few months, I feel like this ones been pretty neglected, so my goal is to get some good use out of this and to (hopefully) on at least 3-4 shades. This will probably be the easiest product in my project pan, since I've already hit major pan on this one. This is the Maybelline Fit M

The BEST Lip Colours for Spring!

When it comes to seasonal makeup, my two favourites would have to be Spring and Autumn, As much as I love my vampy berry lips when the cooler months roll around, I love all the pretty colours I get to play around with in the spring time. Here are the lipsticks that are pretty much always in my rotation all Spring long: From Left to Right: Wet N' Wild Liquid Catsuit Matte Liquid Lipstick in 'Nudist Peach'  Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in 'Baci'  Colourpop Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick in 'Instigator'  Essence Lipstick in 'Coral Calling'  Maybelline Colour Sensational Lipstick in 'Vibrant Mandarin'  Nyx Lipstick in 'Vitamin'  Nyx Lipstick in 'Blush'  Let me know if you'd like lip swatches or entire makeup looks created with any of these! I'm so excited that it's finally spring! xo

Winter Project Pan Update!

Hey everyone! So here is my update on my winter project pan! So: I completely finished the Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous Foundation and the Benefit Porefessional primer which I'm really happy about. The Maybelline Fit Me concealer seems to be one of those products that never ends! I use it on the daily and it just never seems to run out! I do think I'm on the last few drops of it now though.  I'm really happy with the progress I made on the Maybelline Blushed Nudes palette . While it doesnt look like much, I managed to hit pan on 2 more shades, which I think is pretty good. Forcing myself to use it more often also made me love it a lot more. This palette doesn't have the best reviews and I really don't know why because I really do think it's a great one overall. One product it seemed really hard for me to make progress on was the Marcelle Kohl eyeliner , even though I was using it frequently and sharpening it as well. I realized pretty soon after

March Favourites!

It's that time again; new month, new batch of products I've been loving. I tried out a lot of new products this month so I had a really hard time narrowing this list down to an acceptable size, but I decided to go with the products I've used on a near daily basis throughout the month of March. Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Granite I was on quite a brow product hunt last month. I wanted something that could effortlessly fill in sparse areas without making my brows look too dark or too clown-like. This product is honestly so fool proof and looks so great. You can build up the pigmentation as well, so you can choose to go for a natural , subtle look or a full on Instagram style brow all with one product! Nyx Dewy Finish Setting Spray As a setting spray, I thought this product was good, but not good enough to keep me using it on a daily basis. I recently started using this to dampen my Beauty Blender and my foundation and concealer have never looked better ! It

DECEMBER + JANUARY EMPTIES (and reviews!)

It's time for another empties roundup! I haven't used up too many products in the past little while, so I may start doing these posts on a quarterly basis, however I do have a TON of samples I need to test out, so let me know if you'd like to see me do a big review of samples I try! Lets get into it! Rimmel 'Stay Matte' Pressed Powder : It took me ages to get through this powder, but I can honestly say its one of the best I've ever used. It's super afforable and keeps your makeup matte and in place all day. Too Faced 'Better Than Sex' Mascara : It seems I always have one of these in my empties posts, likely because it's my holy grail mascara. I've done a full review on this mascara in the past, you can read that here , but in brief, it lengthens, volumizes, and makes my lashes look unlike anything any other mascara can do. Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara: I have a full review of this mascara on my blog as well, which you can re

PROJECT PAN! (Winter 2016/17)

If there's something I learned from my no-buy back in the Fall, it's that I really do have a LOT of makeup, a lot of it that has been sitting around, unused or half used and forgotten. That's why I decided I'm going to start my own Project Pan, to use up some of the products that need some loving/need to go. So from now until March 20th, 2017, I'm going to be working on finishing up these products! The products: Maybelline 'The Blushed Nudes' palette Benefit 'The Porefessional' Primer Marcelle Kohl Eyeliner Maybelline 'Fit Me' Concealer Covergirl 'Ready Set Gorgeous' Foundation Nyx Prismatic Eyeshadow in 'Girl Talk' All of these are products that I love, but have either been a bit neglected in my routine, or have just been lingering around for way too long. So I chose them to encourage myself to put them to more use. As you can see, I've already made a significant dent in this palette. My goal is to hit p

NOVEMBER FAVOURITES!

Can you believe it's already December? It's beginning to look a lot like..... exam season! Kidding, but not really. Hang in there students, the break is near! I can't wait to finally have more time to blog... November was a pretty brutal month for me in terms of school and time management! This month was a really great one for me in terms of my makeup and skincare routine though. I just came out of a 4-ish month no-buy, which really renewed my perspective on using up my products and not buying more than I really need just because. I also tried out so many new products, many of which I won't mention here (dedicated full reviews are on the way!), and I've discovered a ton of new favourites. I went to the Lise Watier warehouse sale this past month and picked up their Blush Trio , and can we just talk about how pretty it is? I think its from an older collection, so I'm not sure if it's available any more, but I've been using it every day in Novemb

October Favourites!

It's November! Hi everyone! I apologize for my little break from the blogging world. I needed to put my focus 100% on my midterms, but now that those have been conquered, I'm back and excited to share what I have been loving all throughout the month of October! October is my favourite month, mostly because it's my birthday month, but it has my absolute favourite weather as well. I am SO happy to be able to be wearing my huge cozy sweaters again. Nyx Lip Lingerie in 'Ruffle Trim' The amount of times I've been complimented on this lip colour blows my mind. It's a really pretty warm brown nude, which used to be somewhat out of my comfort zone, but I've been loving it lately. Maybelline Fit me! Matte and Poreless face powder Once my Rimmel Stay Matte powder ran out, I really needed a good, new mattifying powder, so I decided to give this one a shot. I'm not too sure if I like it more than the Rimmel one, but it makes my skin look so smooth an

PRODUCT EMPTIES!! : Review & Would I Repurchase?

Hi everyone! I don't normally do empties posts, mostly because I'm really bad at thinking to keep them before I just toss them in the trash, but I somehow managed to gather a few things this month and I figured I'd talk about them and whether I'd repurchase them or not. L'Oreal Color Radiance Protecting Mask I don't really have coloured hair. I've had highlights done a few months ago, but besides that, nothing new enough where colour protection is a must for me, so unfortunately I can't really comment on whether or not it prolongs colour. It does however make my hair smell incredible (I'd honestly buy it for the scent alone) and it really leaves my hair feeling really soft and nourished. Aveeno Eczema Care Hand Cream This is probably the 6th or 7th tube of this I've gone through. It's just that good. I really recommend this to anyone with eczema and is looking for a good cream minus the steroids. It would also be great for anyone with

Foundation Review Friday: Maybelline Dream Smooth Mousse

I'll be honest, for some reason when I picked up this foundation, I thought I would hate it. I primarily use liquid foundations, but this one is a thick, cream consistency type foundation, which I assumed would be pretty cakey, however I have to say I was pretty pleasantly surprised by this product! I haven't heard too many people talk about it though, which I think is sad because this product is a hidden gem in the drugstore for us ladies with dry skin. The Claims Cream-whipped consistency Skin looks and feels hydrated for 14 hours Best suited for normal to dry skin types Provides "baby-smooth" finish on skin Non-comedogenic Oil and fragrance free The Results The foundation felt more like a thick cream to me, not so much cream-whipped, so it did feel a little heavy on the skin upon application, however it doesn't look heavy or cakey. I definitely notice that my skin looks hydrated while wearing this foundation. It's definitely a good foundatio

Foundation Friday: Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin Foundation

Another Friday, another foundation review! Today I wanted to talk about a foundation pretty new to my collection, which is Maybelline's SuperStay Better Skin foundation. I mainly bought this product because there was quite a bit of hype about it on YouTube and I had high hopes for it. The Claims This product has SO many claims to it!  Longwearing Brightens, smoothens and evens skin tone Good for sensitive skin Good for all skin types Medium to full coverage Reduces appearance of imperfections The Results I didn't find this foundation to last longer than any other drugstore foundations I've tried It is not transfer-proof It didn't irritate my skin or cause breakouts (I have dry, sensitive skin) I did find that this foundation would cling weirdly to dry areas on my face  It applied well with both a brush and a Beauty Blender It definitely needs to be set with a mattifying powder because I didn't find that it set well on its own (it stayed tac

Foundation Friday: Maybelline 'Dream Velvet' Foundation

For this week's Foundation Friday, I'm going to be talking about Maybelline's Dream Wonder foundation which I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with. I was initially very drawn to it, despite the very mixed reviews I had read/watched, because of the claims the product made. I really did have to try it for myself. If you are new to my blog and these reviews, I have dry and somewhat sensitive skin, which tends to complicate the process of finding good drugstore foundations. The Claims Hydrating, matte formula Gel-whipped consistency Ideal for normal to combination skin Medium coverage Soft matte finish The Results -I'm not quite sure if this product was really hydrating. In fact, I think the better word would be oily . I have dry skin, and after a few hours of wearing this product (and setting it with a mattifying powder!), I found myself becoming oily. -On application, it did give a really nice soft matte finish. -It had a really cool whipped gel consi

Hello there! So I decided to do a collective post on all the things that I got a few weeks ago at the L'Oreal Private Sale! My Experience at the L'Oreal Spring 2016 Private Sale

This was my first time going to one of the L'Oreal private sales, so it's safe to say I was pretty excited. I love going to warehouse sales, and since I'm on a bit of a budget (college students, you feel me?), finding some good deals sounds pretty exciting to me. I went on a Thursday evening, so thankfully I did not have to wait in line, as I probably would have had I came earlier in the day or on the weekend. Just because there was no line did not mean there was not many people; oh no. It was super crowded and chaotic: which lets be honest, is half the fun of a warehouse sale. So, here's what I've gathered from this sale as well as some helpful tips if you're considering attending one. -Do not go in expecting mind blowing deals. Yes, you will find some great sales. For example, I left with a handful of Nyx lipsticks which were 2 for 1, nail polish was 2 for $3 and other daily/weekly promotions. However not everything was extremely marked down. -Which

January Favourites!

Hey everyone! I'm a bit late on my favourites this month (blame school!) but I have a ton of things that I LOVED this month so this will be a long one! If you would like a longer, more in depth review of any of the products I've mentioned, let me know in the comments and I will definitely do one! Makeup: Maybelline Dream Velvet Foundation I've been using the Too Faced 'Born This Way' foundation pretty steadily since the summer so I was looking to try something new this month and I found a great one. This foundation has the nicest texture and gives incredible coverage. The staying power is also pretty great for a drugstore foundation.   Nyx High Voltage Lipsticks These lipsticks are so incredible that I've gone back to purchase more about 3 times. I own around 6 of them now and I'm so in love with them. They do everything you want from a lipstick: they're creamy and hydrating, they have a great lasting power and the best thing about them
