March Favourites!

It's that time again; new month, new batch of products I've been loving. I tried out a lot of new products this month so I had a really hard time narrowing this list down to an acceptable size, but I decided to go with the products I've used on a near daily basis throughout the month of March.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Granite
I was on quite a brow product hunt last month. I wanted something that could effortlessly fill in sparse areas without making my brows look too dark or too clown-like. This product is honestly so fool proof and looks so great. You can build up the pigmentation as well, so you can choose to go for a natural, subtle look or a full on Instagram style brow all with one product!

Nyx Dewy Finish Setting Spray
As a setting spray, I thought this product was good, but not good enough to keep me using it on a daily basis. I recently started using this to dampen my Beauty Blender and my foundation and concealer have never looked better! It makes any product I put on my face look super flawless and decreases any cakey-ness that can happen.
Wet N' Wild Liquid Catsuit Matte Lipstick in 'Nudist Peach'
This liquid lipstick, besides being super affordable, is really awesome. It applies a bit watery and at times streaky, but its easily built into an opaque, even coat and it has a fantastic lasting power. This shade in particular is so great for the spring and looks so nice paired with pink or peach toned eye looks. I'm in love!

Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in 'Stockholm'
Honestly, I'm sure if I look back in my monthly favourites posts, I'll probably see this exact product at least 3 or 4 times. This shade is my absolute perfect nude. It's extremely flattering, doesn't make me look dead and makes my teeth look super white. Bonus: it goes with any conceivable eye look, trust me on this one.
Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in 'Baci'
For days when I want to step outside my comfort zone a little bit, I've been going for this lip colour. It's a stunning mauvy grey type colour that is just so interesting to look at. This formula of liquid lipstick honestly blew my mind the first time I wore it. This stuff will not come off, trust me on this one. If ever you need a product that will stick around even while eating, drinking, kissing, etc. this is the one!

Essence Gel Eyeliner in 'Blue Lagoon'
I've probably also had this product in a monthly favourites before as well, but I had to bring it back again because there are no words to describe how great it is. This product honestly feels like a high end product you would happily pay $40 for. It just glides right on with the most incredible pigmentation. I put this in my waterline and not only did it stay put ALL day (at least 12 hours?), but it looked incredible.
Physician's Formula Happy Booster Blush
I had this blush stored away in my collection for the longest time and for some unknown reason I just never really used it all that much. I decided a few weeks ago to give it another shot and I'm seriously so in love with the colour that it gives my cheeks. As much as this analogy is overused, it really does make your cheeks look like you just came inside from a cold, winter day. A super pretty pink flush!
Maybelline 'Fit Me!' Concealer
This is just a great drugstore concealer. You really cannot go wrong with this. It will cover up a multitude of sins, including my crazy dark under eye circles, without looking obvious or cakey. It could probably pass off as a high end concealer and no one would tell the difference. So, so good.

The BEST and EASIEST Waffle Recipe! (Blogmas Day 9)

When it starts to get chilly out, I find myself making waffles pretty often. In fact, our Sunday breakfast usually consists of waffles of some kind. And in my house, I'm the designated waffle chef. I have the best recipe for waffles that are truly delicious AND any lazy chefs dream; its all done in one bowl, with ingredients everyone has in their kitchen. Literally foolproof and delicious. Perfect for Christmas morning! Makes anywhere from 8-12 waffles, depending on the size of your waffle iron. Ingredients:  2 cups of All-Purpose flour 1 tablespoon of baking powder 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar 1/4 teaspoon of salt 2 eggs (beaten) 1 teaspoon of vanilla (but you can add another 1/2 teaspoon if you want a stronger vanilla taste!) 1-3/4 cups of milk 1/4 cup vegetable oil Directions:  1) In a big bowl, combine all the dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, sugar and salt) 2) Create a well in the center of your dry ingredients and add your wet ingredients 3) Mix

1 Year of Covid-19: A reflection

It feels like just yesterday we were all feeling the anxiety and uncertainty of a new disease that was spreading quickly around the world that no one truly understood yet. We were facing the first wave of cases, the fear of going outside and being around people and the first round of quarantines and restrictions.  It feels like just yesterday, but also so long ago.  I, and I am sure many others, am feeling a mix of emotions.  Sad for the loss of comfort we once had. Grief for all the lives lost and permanently changed. Thankful for my health and that of my family. Gratitude for the scientists and frontline workers alike, working tirelessly behind the scenes I hope that one day we can return to a new normal. I hope that one day I'll be able to go to work and not feel  afraid  to get too close to my coworkers and patients. I hope that no one will ever again have to face the end of their lives all alone. I hope that no one has their life cut short because of an insidious virus that

Blogilates Beginner's Calendar 2.0: Review & Final Update

I've officially completed all 28 days of the Blogilates Beginner's Calendar and firstly, I have to say that I'm pretty damn proud of myself, because it was pretty difficult but I stuck with it until the end. And I had fun in the process! So, how much of a difference does this calendar really make? Does it work? Here are my final thoughts. This workout program really works, but you need to work at it too. If you're going to half ass the workouts, eat badly and skip days, you really won't see a huge difference. I really did my best to stick with it and work hard at it and I really have seen a difference. The thing about Blogilates that I enjoyed is that you won't just see a difference in your body, you'll see a difference in your mindset and motivation as well. Physically, since I began the calendar, I lost 10 pounds and I feel so much stronger than I was before. My muscles, especially my legs are so much more defined than they used to be. Cassey als
