It's Christmas Eve! (Blogmas Day 23 & 24)

Hey everyone! The past 24+ hours have gone by in such a flurry of excitement and productivity for me, I honestly cannot believe it's already the 24th! All my gifts have been bought, wrapped and placed under the tree. My pumpkin pie is baked and ready to eat and my cake is baked, leveled, stacked and crumb coated! All I have left to do today is to decorate my cake which sounds like a pretty fun Christmas eve activity to me! Along with Christmas eve supper and then Christmas movies and hot chocolate!! I have to say I'm a bit sad that after all this fun buildup, Christmas will be over once again. But the next few days will be tons of fun and I'm super excited! What are you guys doing today? Do you have any Christmas eve traditions? Happy Christmas eve everyone! PS. would anyone be interesting in seeing the final product of my cake once it's decorated? It's a pumpkin and spice cake with a cinnamon cream cheese icing!! xo

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas....

Oh yes! It's getting close to that time of year again! The holidays are truly one of my favourite times of the year. Yes, I may be one of those people who start listening to Christmas music in November and plan out my holiday shopping/decorating/baking weeks in advance. And yes, my family is the kind who put up their Christmas tree on December 1st. For all of you who aren't quite in the holiday spirit yet (and those of you like me who are TOTALLY in the holiday spirit) I thought I'd share a collection of photos that just might get you a bit more in the mood to get excited about the holidays!! Are you excited for the holidays? Tell me about it in the comments! xo

Healthy (and Delicious!) Pasta Salad Recipe

This light, colourful pasta salad is my go-to recipe for picnics, pot-lucks and summer BBQ's. Its super tasty and healthy too! Ingredients: 1 box of pasta (I used tri-color fussili) 1 cup of white cheddar, cut into small cubes 1 red bell pepper, diced 1 yellow or orange bell pepper, diced 2-3 scallions 1 can of kidney beans, strained 1 tomato, diced Fresh basil Salad dressing of your choice (I used sundried tomato Italian, which was delicious!) Directions: Boil the pasta, strain and rinse with cold water. Transfer to a big bowl. Add the cheddar, bell peppers, scallions and tomato. Strain the can of kidney beans, rinse them in water and add them in the bowl. Garnish with fresh basil - this parts up to you; I put a lot of basil cause I love it, but you can put as much or as little as you'd like, or omit it all together. Finally, pour the salad dressing on top. I normally put about half a bottle (or about 1 cup) of store bought salad dressing on top, which sounds

Hidden Treasures

Last weekend, my family and some friends went up to Val-David, Quebec and went to this cute little cafe called C'est la vie   which I just loved. I've been looking for a place like this for so long and I'm so thrilled that I found it! Its so quaint and cozy and the atmosphere was just amazing. The staff was so friendly and the food was delicious!  I ordered a mochacinno and a "Julie" panini which had honey chicken, brie and spinach. They were both sooo good, and they were so pretty I almost didn't want to try them! (so I took pictures haha)  All their drinks were decorated with little hearts on the foamy part which I thought was so cute!  We had the choice to either sit on the big Adirondack chairs at the front of the cafe, on the terrace under the big shady umbrellas or inside the actual cozy cafe. Its really a great place to go when the weathers nice. Overall, I loved this place so so much and I'm definitely going to go back whene
