MAY FAVOURITES!

Wow, can you believe its June already? This  month flew by so quickly! Luckily, I did also discover a ton of amazing new products that I cannot wait to share with you all! Nyx HD Concealer in "Fair" The fact that this is a drugstore concealer blows my mind. It is so creamy and offers amazing coverage. Hands down the best concealer I've ever used on my under eye circles! Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous foundation (in 110 creamy natural) I'm really liking this foundation this month. It offers a light to medium coverage which is what I like to have in the summer. It wears really well, even on really hot or humid days, which is a must! Too Faced Shadow Insurance I know this stuff has been around for ages, but WOW is it ever good. It can not only hold glittery eyeshadows for hours without any creasing, but it actually makes them look SO much better. It even increases the amount of pigmentation you get from your shadow! If you haven't tried this yet, y

The BEST White Sangria Recipe for Summer

As soon as the warm weather rolls around, I love making sangria! I have a handful of different recipes I love to make, but when we plan big barbecues, I always go back to my classics. This recipe is super simple but also very refreshing and delicious. The following measurements are to make a pitcher but I'll also include the amounts to make one glass, in case you don't want to make so much! Citrus White Sangria - 1 bottle of Moscato (I like to use Jacob's Creek) - 2oz of Triple Sec - 2oz of Brandy (Peach Schnapps is also great for this) - 1 can of 7-Up (or any lemon-lime soda) Fill up the rest with pineapple juice and a touch of orange juice. Throw in slices of half an orange, one lime, one lemon and about 6 rinsed marachino cherries. Stir, chill and enjoy! Let me know what you think if you try it! And also let me know if you'd like any of my other sangria recipes... I make a fastastic red sangria, a berry sangria and a tropical sangria! To m

Review: The Storyteller by Antonia Michaelis

I normally know exactly how I feel about a book once I've read it; either I like it or I don't. This book however has left me so conflicted. I could not stop reading it, but it was also so dark, bleak and at times disturbing that I didn't want to be. The story is of a girl named Anna, who descibes herself as living in a soap bubble. She encounters and begins to get to know a boy at her school named Abel, known as the "Polish Peddler", since he sells drugs. Besides being a drug dealer, he is also the older brother of a little girl named Micha, to whom he is a parental figure and a story teller. The big fairy tale that he tells Micha (and Anna) throughout the book parallels the real life happenings in their lives. The themes of the book are similar to the setting in which the story takes place: cold, dark, almost uncomfortable. Almost excessively so. The characters themselves, in my opinion, are quite ambiguous, in the sense that you can't even really tel

My Experience at the L'Oreal Spring 2016 Private Sale

This was my first time going to one of the L'Oreal private sales, so it's safe to say I was pretty excited. I love going to warehouse sales, and since I'm on a bit of a budget (college students, you feel me?), finding some good deals sounds pretty exciting to me. I went on a Thursday evening, so thankfully I did not have to wait in line, as I probably would have had I came earlier in the day or on the weekend. Just because there was no line did not mean there was not many people; oh no. It was super crowded and chaotic: which lets be honest, is half the fun of a warehouse sale. So, here's what I've gathered from this sale as well as some helpful tips if you're considering attending one. -Do not go in expecting mind blowing deals. Yes, you will find some great sales. For example, I left with a handful of Nyx lipsticks which were 2 for 1, nail polish was 2 for $3 and other daily/weekly promotions. However not everything was extremely marked down. -Which

My Summer Plan

Summer is finally here, and like most years, I have many fantastic ideas floating around my head of the perfect summer. Will any of that happen? Probably not. But as many people say, the best way to have your goals become reality is to make it realistic and to write it down. So here is my plan for this summer. 1) Read more Being a nursing student, I do a lot of reading. However what I'm reading is mostly textbooks and scholarly medical articles. Now that it's summer, and I can finally resume reading for pleasure, I fully intend to do that as much as I can. I am a huge reader so this shouldn't be a problem. In fact, I've already made my first trip to the library! 2) Go outside After the long, brutal winter we had, I think that this summer it's really important that I spend more time outdoors and enjoying the sunshine (as tempting as it may be to stay in and watch Netflix all day). Plus its a good way to be more active too! 3) Go on short trips I really wan
