21 Signs You Went To An All Girls Private School

I've seen a few articles like these around and I always love reading them and reminiscing on my high school days. As excited as I was to graduate and finally get out of high school, I find myself looking back on it a lot and missing it a lot more than I expected. Going to an all-girls high school is a pretty unique experience but it leaves you with endless unforgettable memories. So in order to compile this list of hopefully #relatable things, I got my best friend Tracy (who I just so happened to meet on my very first day of high school) to help me brainstorm (and believe me, it took forever cause it just turned into a "remember when...?" nostalgia fest). Anyway, without further ado, the 21 signs you went to an all-girls private school:

1) Your school "assemblies" were actually liturgies
School spirit? Pep rallies? Nah, it's time to read some bible verses!
2) You were excited about having mass because it meant skipping class
So not down for math today... Oh wait, Easter mass!
3) Girls always had crushes on the male teachers, even if they weren't that cute
And there was no Ezra & Aria-esque romance. Oh well, it was the closest thing we had to seeing boys every day.
4) You have the superhero ability to survive the winter in a skirt
Shout out to the girls who live in cold countries and have to take the bus!
5) Free dress days were literal holidays
Even though we would show up in sweat pants and hoodies anyway.
6) Lunch time was the highlight of your day
Food was serious business.
7) You were more excited about food than boys
A brownie will never let you down.
8) When the all-boys school would visit, you'd stare at them like they were foreign creatures
What are thooooose?
9) Bake sales were the most exciting thing
If you didn't leave with a stack of cookies and brownies and cupcakes, you did it wrong.
10) Knowing exactly how short your skirt was supposed to be
And rolling it shorter anyway
11) Being able to openly ask for hygiene products out loud
"ANYBODY HAVE A TAMPON?"
12) And pretty much being able to talk about periods openly at any time
"WHO HAS THEIR PERIOD RIGHT NOW, RAISE THEIR HAND"
13) Going to the co-ed school dances and ending up just spending the whole time with your girls anyway
And you had a lot more fun that way anyway
14) Girls playing the male characters in school plays
And some of them were DAMN hot
15) Being able to console a crying girl like youre the damn female whisperer
"Shhh honey, you don't need him, he's stupid and you're a goddess"
16) Using the pin on your skirt to engrave your name into things
Personally guilty of engraving "Grads 2012" in multiple areas
17) Not knowing how you got all those tears and rips in your tights when all you did was sit in class all day
How is it humanly possible to go through so many pairs of tights per year??????
18) Having to read countless articles and write essays about the benefits of single sex schools
Okay, we get it, girls do better in science and math when boys aren't around.... Is it lunch time yet?
19) When male science teachers had to teach us about human body parts
So many giggles, so much immaturity (hehe penis)
20) Having to take etiquette classes
But still not crossing your legs in the lady-like fashion anyway
21) Making friends who will be your sisters for life <3

The BEST and EASIEST Waffle Recipe! (Blogmas Day 9)

When it starts to get chilly out, I find myself making waffles pretty often. In fact, our Sunday breakfast usually consists of waffles of some kind. And in my house, I'm the designated waffle chef. I have the best recipe for waffles that are truly delicious AND any lazy chefs dream; its all done in one bowl, with ingredients everyone has in their kitchen. Literally foolproof and delicious. Perfect for Christmas morning! Makes anywhere from 8-12 waffles, depending on the size of your waffle iron. Ingredients:  2 cups of All-Purpose flour 1 tablespoon of baking powder 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar 1/4 teaspoon of salt 2 eggs (beaten) 1 teaspoon of vanilla (but you can add another 1/2 teaspoon if you want a stronger vanilla taste!) 1-3/4 cups of milk 1/4 cup vegetable oil Directions:  1) In a big bowl, combine all the dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, sugar and salt) 2) Create a well in the center of your dry ingredients and add your wet ingredients 3) Mix

1 Year of Covid-19: A reflection

It feels like just yesterday we were all feeling the anxiety and uncertainty of a new disease that was spreading quickly around the world that no one truly understood yet. We were facing the first wave of cases, the fear of going outside and being around people and the first round of quarantines and restrictions.  It feels like just yesterday, but also so long ago.  I, and I am sure many others, am feeling a mix of emotions.  Sad for the loss of comfort we once had. Grief for all the lives lost and permanently changed. Thankful for my health and that of my family. Gratitude for the scientists and frontline workers alike, working tirelessly behind the scenes I hope that one day we can return to a new normal. I hope that one day I'll be able to go to work and not feel  afraid  to get too close to my coworkers and patients. I hope that no one will ever again have to face the end of their lives all alone. I hope that no one has their life cut short because of an insidious virus that

Blogilates Beginner's Calendar 2.0: Review & Final Update

I've officially completed all 28 days of the Blogilates Beginner's Calendar and firstly, I have to say that I'm pretty damn proud of myself, because it was pretty difficult but I stuck with it until the end. And I had fun in the process! So, how much of a difference does this calendar really make? Does it work? Here are my final thoughts. This workout program really works, but you need to work at it too. If you're going to half ass the workouts, eat badly and skip days, you really won't see a huge difference. I really did my best to stick with it and work hard at it and I really have seen a difference. The thing about Blogilates that I enjoyed is that you won't just see a difference in your body, you'll see a difference in your mindset and motivation as well. Physically, since I began the calendar, I lost 10 pounds and I feel so much stronger than I was before. My muscles, especially my legs are so much more defined than they used to be. Cassey als
