TV Talk: Scream Queens: Season 1

Note: The first half of this post is a general review, mainly intended for people who have not yet watched the show and contains NO spoilers. The second half is a review of the final episodes and does contain spoilers.

I just spend the past couple days binge watching Scream Queens. In my defense, I recently got my wisdom teeth removed and thus needed some laid back recovery time. It is also very, very addictive.

I am a huge fan of American Horror Story, so when I saw that Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk were working on another show, I was definitely intrigued. I decided to give it a shot. Overall, I'm pretty happy I did. The show has not yet been renewed for a second season, but I'm really hoping it will be, partially because I did get pretty invested in the story, but mostly because it ended on quite the cliffhanger, as season finales tend to.

When I first began watching the show, I was sure I liked it. I didn't find the characters to be particularly likeable (and yes, I know, the characters are not likeable, that's kind of their character), but I didn't really get that hooked into it, in the sense that I needed to know what would happen to them. I think you need to get past the first couple episodes to be really hooked. Because I watched the pilot and second episode and felt kinda meh about it, but as I continued I definitely got really really into it.

The show is a great mix of horror and comedy. If you have a dark sense of humour, you'll definitely like this one. Of course, it is more of a girly kind of show in my opinion, since the plot surrounds a group of sorority girls and the main characters are all female. If this sounds like something that might interest you, I definitely recommend it, because it is quite entertaining.

Emma Roberts is so great at acting out those love-to-hate characters. If you liked her in American Horror Story: Coven, then this is definitely up your alley. The rest of the star-studded cast is also really great in my opinion, notably Jamie Lee Curtis, who again is another love-to-hate character.

Now. I need to discuss the finale. I feel like it was kind of a Pretty Little Liars finale in the sense that, I kinda felt disappointed but I was also really into it. I was really hoping for a bit more shock factor to be honest. Out of the Chanel's left, Hester seemed like the most obvious to be the Red Devil. So that, to me, was kinda disappointing. And seeing her pass all of the blame onto the Chanel's was kind of predictable but entertaining nonetheless. However past that reveal, I think the episode thoroughly redeemed itself. It was so entertaining. I think seeing Hester's backstory and planning was pretty interesting and The Chanel's in the asylum was pretty funny.

Not too sure how I feel about the Dean Munsch/Wes relationship, and while I was not surprised about Pete being involved with the Red Devil murders (and omg how creepy was he while trying to justify his actions to Grace?), but I am kind of sad that he died.

Of course, the episode ends with the return of the Red Devil about to kill Chanel in the asylum leaving us all like WHAT and dying for a season two. Soooooo I really really hope it gets renewed, because that cliffhanger did exactly what cliffhangers are meant to do and I NEED to know what happens next.
*******[end of spoilers]*********

So, lets make this a discussion. Comment below if you've watched the show, what you thought and what your hopes are for Season 2. If you haven't seen the show, let me know if you'd be interested in watching it now!

The BEST and EASIEST Waffle Recipe! (Blogmas Day 9)

When it starts to get chilly out, I find myself making waffles pretty often. In fact, our Sunday breakfast usually consists of waffles of some kind. And in my house, I'm the designated waffle chef. I have the best recipe for waffles that are truly delicious AND any lazy chefs dream; its all done in one bowl, with ingredients everyone has in their kitchen. Literally foolproof and delicious. 1 Year of Covid-19: A reflection

It feels like just yesterday we were all feeling the anxiety and uncertainty of a new disease that was spreading quickly around the world that no one truly understood yet. We were facing the first wave of cases, the fear of going outside and being around people and the first round of quarantines and restrictions.  It feels like just yesterday, but also so long ago.  I, and I am sure many others, am feeling a mix of emotions.  Sad for the loss of comfort we once had. Grief for all the lives lost and permanently changed. Thankful for my health and that of my family. Gratitude for the scientists and frontline workers alike, working tirelessly behind the scenes I hope that one day we can return to a new normal. I hope that one day I'll be able to go to work and not feel  afraid  to get too close to my coworkers and patients. I hope that no one will ever again have to face the end of their lives all alone. I hope that no one has their life cut short because of an insidious virus that

Blogilates Beginner's Calendar 2.0: Review & Final Update

I've officially completed all 28 days of the Blogilates Beginner's Calendar and firstly, I have to say that I'm pretty damn proud of myself, because it was pretty difficult but I stuck with it until the end. And I had fun in the process! So, how much of a difference does this calendar really make? Does it work? Here are my final thoughts. This workout program really works, but you need to work at it too. If you're going to half ass the workouts, eat badly and skip days, you really won't see a huge difference. I really did my best to stick with it and work hard at it and I really have seen a difference. The thing about Blogilates that I enjoyed is that you won't just see a difference in your body, you'll see a difference in your mindset and motivation as well. Physically, since I began the calendar, I lost 10 pounds and I feel so much stronger than I was before. My muscles, especially my legs are so much more defined than they used to be. Cassey als
