Foundation Review Friday: Physician's Formula 'Touch of Glow' Foundation

Now that it's summer, I'm on the hunt for that glow. As much as I love my many matte or semi-matte foundations, I'd definitely like a foundation that offers a nice dewy, glowy finish. I have dry skin, so I'm not too afraid of venturing into more hydrating or luminous foundations. So that is when I purchased the Physician's Formula 'Touch of Glow' Foundation from their Nude Wear line.

Let's be honest here, the main thing that would attract you to this foundation is probably the adorable packaging. It's pink and rose gold and has a little bow on it. Yeah, I was sold. Was it worth it, though?

The Claims
  • Weightless
  • Illuminating and radiant
  • "Just the right amount of coverage"
  • Virtually undetectable on skin
  • One pump of product is the perfect amount

It is also hypoallergenic, paraben free, gluten free, dermatologist approved, non-comedogenic and fragrance free.

The Facts

  • I did find it to be pretty weightless on my skin. It had a nice, hydrating feel to it and didn't stick to any areas of texture.
  • It had a dewy, luminous finish, however I felt like it never completely set. I did have to add a finishing powder on top, which cut a bit of the dewy appearance. It still looked really nice though.
  • The coverage was almost about medium on me, but one pump was definitely NOT the perfect amount. You need about 2 to cover the entire face.
  • Don't bother with the foundation brush they included. I found it to be too small and the shape was not very useful for foundation application. It's pretty useful for under eye concealer though!
  • The thing I dislike the most is the colour range... What range? From what I saw, you had 2 options, "Light" and "Light/Medium". I have it in "Light" and it was still a bit too dark on my skin which is pretty fair.
  • I do notice that it faded a bit on me after a few hours of wear. It definitely isn't the most long wearing foundation I've tried but it didn't oxidize or look patchy at all over time.
  • As it claimed, it has no scent, did not clog pores or cause any kind of bad reaction on my skin (which is sensitive).

The Verdict

I found this foundation to be just okay. It gave a very fresh faced, radiant look which I love and it didn't feel too heavy. I think it's a really nice foundation for summer if you're not looking for something with as much coverage.

If you have fair skin or oily skin, I'd probably skip this one, I'm pretty annoyed by the lack of variety with the shade range but this is pretty standard for Physician's Formula products.

Overall though, I think it's a pretty good foundation for summer if it works for your skin tone, type and coverage needs.

The BEST and EASIEST Waffle Recipe! (Blogmas Day 9)

When it starts to get chilly out, I find myself making waffles pretty often. In fact, our Sunday breakfast usually consists of waffles of some kind. And in my house, I'm the designated waffle chef. I have the best recipe for waffles that are truly delicious AND any lazy chefs dream; its all done in one bowl, with ingredients everyone has in their kitchen. Literally foolproof and delicious. Perfect for Christmas morning! Makes anywhere from 8-12 waffles, depending on the size of your waffle iron. 1 Year of Covid-19: A reflection

It feels like just yesterday we were all feeling the anxiety and uncertainty of a new disease that was spreading quickly around the world that no one truly understood yet. We were facing the first wave of cases, the fear of going outside and being around people and the first round of quarantines and restrictions.  It feels like just yesterday, but also so long ago.  I, and I am sure many others, am feeling a mix of emotions.  Sad for the loss of comfort we once had. Grief for all the lives lost and permanently changed. Thankful for my health and that of my family. Gratitude for the scientists and frontline workers alike, working tirelessly behind the scenes I hope that one day we can return to a new normal. I hope that one day I'll be able to go to work and not feel  afraid  to get too close to my coworkers and patients. I hope that no one will ever again have to face the end of their lives all alone. I hope that no one has their life cut short because of an insidious virus that

Blogilates Beginner's Calendar 2.0: Review & Final Update

I've officially completed all 28 days of the Blogilates Beginner's Calendar and firstly, I have to say that I'm pretty damn proud of myself, because it was pretty difficult but I stuck with it until the end. And I had fun in the process! So, how much of a difference does this calendar really make? Does it work? Here are my final thoughts. This workout program really works, but you need to work at it too. If you're going to half ass the workouts, eat badly and skip days, you really won't see a huge difference. I really did my best to stick with it and work hard at it and I really have seen a difference. The thing about Blogilates that I enjoyed is that you won't just see a difference in your body, you'll see a difference in your mindset and motivation as well. Physically, since I began the calendar, I lost 10 pounds and I feel so much stronger than I was before. My muscles, especially my legs are so much more defined than they used to be. Cassey als
