Midterms...

Hey everyone! Long time no talk, I know. This is just a quick little update to let you all know whats going on with me and to ask you to please bear with me! It's midterm season, and any college student (especially student nurses!) will understand just how hectic it can be. I do have some exciting thing to look forward to however! My birthday is coming up in just a couple days, and there are a few cosmetic warehouse sales that are also coming up and are calling my name! So expect some hauls coming up! Hope you're all well and good luck to any students also going through midterms! xo

Decluttering & Using My Stash

I decided to do a little decluttering of my makeup collection today, which I think is a great thing to do once in while, especially for those of us with a larger makeup collection. I often forget a lot of the makeup I have sitting around and a lot of great products just don't get enough use. Going over all my products, getting rid of things I don't like and then reorganizing helps me remember some of the things I've been neglecting, and kind of renews my inspiration to step out of my comfort zone in terms of makeup looks. Since I'm also on a no-buy, I've been making big efforts to use up my existing collection. Here are a few challenges I've taken on for myself to get to use up my makeup that I usually neglect on a daily basis, which I extend to all of you; Try to create makeup looks using single shadows. We tend to gravitate more to palettes, and these single shadows tend to be used much much less.  When you do use your eyeshadow palettes, create a

Motivation Monday

Happy Monday everyone! And Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian readers! I wanted to share this quote with you all today because it really made me think. How many times have you dropped a project or big dream because you just didn't think you could do it? My biggest problem has always been that I second guess and doubt myself when in reality, I could most probably do it. Anything worth having wont come easy, and maybe you'll stumble and fail a few times along the way, but don't lose that determination and confidence that you can achieve it. The only thing that can hold you back is yourself. Not failure, not bad luck, but you. Believe in yourselves today, and keep working towards those dreams, no matter how big. xo

September Favourites!

Yay! It's officially October, which means Fall is in full swing! Also, October happens to be my favourite month (and also my birth month, but that has totally nothing to do with it eheh). September was a pretty good month for me. School is stressful, but rewarding. I'm also 2 months into my makeup-no buy, which was been a challenge. I'm so tempted to buy things, but it's also pretty satisfying to see my collection get more use. Since I haven't been buying anything new, my favourites this month are mostly things in my collection I rediscovered my love for (or finally got around to trying). I've also been trying to push myself out of my comfort zone in terms of my makeup looks, which is especially fun now that its fall. I've been absolutely loving the Annabelle 'Big Show' mascara this past month. It is such a great mascara to use on a day to day basis. It adds a natural looking length and volume to my lashes, which make them look extra fluttery a

My 10 Fall Makeup Essentials

Hi everyone! Can you believe September is almost over? Was that the fastest month ever or what? I really wanted to take a little time to talk about my essential, must have makeup once Autumn comes around. While I'm not too strict when it comes to sticking to "seasonally appropriate" makeup, Fall is definitely my favourite season, so I definitely take advantage of it when it comes to my makeup choices. Here are the things that I think are definite must haves in your collection for the Autumn months! 1) A good under eye concealer/colour corrector Ah yes, back to school season. Midterms await, meaning sleepless nights and under eye darkness galore. Having a good heavy duty under eye concealer, and a good colour corrector is essential in the Fall. I recommend: Lancome 'Effacernes' Under Eye Concealer & Nyx Dark Circle Concealer/Corrector 2) A Cool Toned Nude Lipstick When I think of Fall lipstick, I think of 2 things: a vampy wine colour, and a cool

Polysporin Eczema Essentials Vs. Aveeno Eczema Care

Those of you who have been around my blog for a while now know that I'm pretty much addicted to Aveeno's Eczema Care hand cream. I've gone through at least 6 tubes of this and it's pretty much my favourite non steroid treatment for the eczema on my hands. When I was going to the drugstore the other day to pick up a new one of my Aveeno ones, and I saw that Polysporin had an eczema cream as well, which I was pretty curious about. I liked that it came in a bigger tube, which is a huge benefit considering how quickly I go through my Aveeno one. I'm always a bit hesitant when I try a new eczema cream because I find that not many of them have the right balance. They're either way too thick and greasy, or just so thin that my skin absorbs it in milliseconds and feels as thought I applied nothing. Here's the thing that I find pretty interesting: When you compare the ingredients in both these products, they are almost 100% identical, in the same order. So I

i on Beauty Makeup Brush Review!

I picked up some brushes from the brand i on Beauty a while back and I really wanted to write about them because I feel like I've never heard anyone talk about these before, which is such a shame because they're such great brushes! The brushes themselves have super soft, synthetic bristles which feel so nice on the face and don't shed at all. They've held up perfectly after several washes too, so for affordable brushes, I'm really impressed with them. They have sturdy bamboo handles, which I personally really like. They aren't the flashiest brushes in my collection, but they do the job well. My favourite of them all definitely has to be the Blusher brush, which I personally use for face powder. It's big and fluffy which is exactly what I like for setting powder. I picked mine up at Winners, and they were super affordable. You can also pick them up on Amazon from what I can see. I highly recommend them, especially for those of you who don't have m
