Foundation Review Friday: Covergirl 'Ready Set Gorgeous' Foundation

So many drugstore foundations get a lot of hype on the internet, but I feel like Covergirl's 'Ready Set Gorgeous' foundation never really got much attention. I guess I can understand why; packaging wise, it isn't exactly the most intriguing. There's nothing necessarily wrong with it, but I feel the plastic and bright pink on it may make you think twice about it. Which I think is a shame, because this is a truly fantastic foundation. I myself am guilty of judging the foundation by it's packaging. In fact, I probably wouldn't have even tried it if it wasn't on sale. Even once I did, I didn't even have the highest expectations for it. Of course, I was pleasantly surprised. The claims-  Oil-free formula Medium coverage to give a natural, flawless look The facts-  Here is what I found with this foundation: It comes in 12 different shades This foundation gives about a medium coverage, that is buildable without becoming cake

Review: Nyx Extra Creamy Lipstick Collection + SWATCHES!!

Hello everyone! Today I wanted to take some time to talk about the Nyx Extra Creamy Lipsticks. I feel like not enough people talk about these considering they're so great. I only own 7 of these and I tend to reach for these the most out of my lipstick collection. Here are my impressions of them: Formulation- They call them "extra creamy" for a reason. They glide onto the lips so easily and your lips never feel dry with these on. You do need to be careful not to smudge them around for that reason though, so I do recommend you use them with a lipliner. Pigmentation - These are super pigmented. Like, one swipe is all you need kind of pigmented. I love it. Colour range - As usual, Nyx is pretty great with their colour range. You have a good selection here for all skin tones, as well as if you're looking for a bold in-your-face colour or a standard nude. Scent/taste - Yeah, that's probably the thing I dislike about these. They have a weird soapy/sunscr

Review: Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer

Hey everyone! Oh my goodness... So I recently purchased the Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer and I just HAD to write a review about it for you all. I'm going to be honest, the main reason I was so attracted to this bronzer at first is the packaging. Yes, I am a sucker for good packaging, and I feel like the rest of the drugstore brands need to step it up a little, because Physicians Formula always seems to get it right. I mean, look at this product? It reminds me a bit of Tarte packaging (for a fraction of the price!), so how could I resist? Besides the pretty packaging, I was also attracted to this bronzer because of the colour. I am a pretty pale girl, so a lot of bronzers tend to be a bit dark on me, but this one seemed to be right up my alley. I was stuck between this one and the Bronzer Booster one, which I've heard so many good things about, but I decided to give this one a try first. First things first, this stuff smells like coconuts. It is like summer in a co

Pretty Little Liars Season 6 Finale: "Hush...Hush, Sweet Liars" Review/Reaction

Warning: Contains spoilers Also, apologies if this doesn't make the most sense... This won't be one of my finer pieces... Oh my god. What even just happened there? The Pretty Little Liars season 6 finale aired last over a week ago (yes, I needed some time to process and gather my thoughts before writing this), and wow. It was a good one. I think that this finale actually fulfilled my wishes from last seasons finale. The reveals were, to me at least, really shocking and I seriously had those moments where'd I'd yell "NO WAY" at my TV. Seeing Mrs. D and Wilden again was a wild ride... but then seeing who they ACTUALLY were? Whaaaaat. Ok, rewind. When I heard there was going to be a twin reveal, I was pretty annoyed. Who would have a twin? Alison? Charlotte? It just seemed like it would be a not so great reveal and would feel like they're grasping to keep this plot alive. Especially since I wasn't really loving the 6B episodes all that much, I

Review: L'Oreal Paris Hair Expertise Extraordinary Oil

Hey everyone, So after a good amount of time trying out the products from the L'Oreal Paris Hair Expertise Extraordinary Oil, I thought I'd give my official, final review. I'll start off by saying this: If you have dry and dull hair and you've struggled finding a product that actually works and makes a difference, you should definitely give this line a try. I've been so impressed with these, and they actually work from the first use, which is amazing. My opinion has changed a bit from my first impression of these products. While I still think they work really well, I have noticed a few things that aren't so great. Pros: It does what it says it does. My hair is softer, shinier and so much more hydrated than before I used these products.  It smells incredible. I seriously love how this range of product smells. And it's a long lasting scent as well, so my hair always smells great, even if my hair isn't freshly washed. The price. After seeing h

First Impression: L'Oreal Paris Hair Expertise Extraordinary Oil

Disclaimer: I received these products for free from Influenster  for review purposes. All opinions are 100% honest and my own. After having used the shampoo, conditioner and mask once, I have decided to write a first impressions review. Normally I like to try a product out a little more before writing a review, but I was so blown away from the results I got from just one use, that I had to write about it. I was pretty skeptical about this product starting out. I have dry hair, and believe me, I've tried every product under the sun with just about every oil out there promising soft, silky locks with just one use. These promises are not new to me. The results, however, were something new. After one use of the 3 products, my hair was noticeably softer and shinier. I actually have spent the day running my fingers through my hair and asking my friends to do the same. I am SO impressed. Besides making my hair soft and shiny, a main requirement for me to make this product a hit

TV Talk: Pretty Little Liars "Of Late I Think Of Rosewood" Recap & Review

Oh my god. After what felt like the longest wait of all time, the first episode of Pretty Little Liars season 6B "Of Late I Think of Rosewood" finally aired. They're back, 5 years later and the story continues. I have been looking forward to this episode since the shocking (and to many, disappointing) huge reveal of the identity of A.  There was so much hype building up to this episode (and, I mean, no kidding. You answer the biggest question of the entire show and then break for months... Obviously we're excited). Did the episode live up to the hype? Well... In my opinion... Not really.  It starts off with the girls reuiniting in Rosewood after being summoned by the court (and Alison, of course) in order to determine if they should release Charlotte. The girls look great; new cities, new jobs, new hair... A lot has changed in these 5 years. But they're not doing as well as it seems... I'm looking forward to seeing more about how the girls have been c

Too Faced 'Better Than Sex" Mascara Review!

I can sum up this mascara in 2 words: Holy Grail. Of course, you're all here for a full review of it, so I'll give you more than just two words. I first tried this mascara a little over a year ago when I got a mini sized one with the Too Faced "Everything Nice' limited edition holiday palette and I fell in love. It is the best mascara if you want dramatic, fuller and longer lashes. I've tried many mascaras and they all promise to both add length and volume, but usually only manage one. This mascara actually does both. I notice my lashes are noticeably thicker and longer. My makeup looks are so so much more dramatic and pretty when I use this mascara, I swear by it. It is not a waterproof formula (I'm not sure if it comes in a waterproof formulation at all) but that was not a problem. I never had any issues with smudging or even black raccoon eyes in the rare occasion I shed a tear or sweat. (of course, you will get some nice black raccoon eyes if you sh

Maybelline 'Lash Sensational' Mascara Review

If you're looking for a mascara that can lengthen your lashes significantly, but also keep them looking natural, then this is the mascara you've been looking for. There was a lot of hype surrounding this mascara, and I've often been disappointed when giving into the hype so I avoided it for a while. However, I recently ran out of my trusty 'Better Than Sex' mascara and it was on sale, so I decided to buy it and give it a try. I can honestly say that this product is SO worth the hype. I like using this mascara on a daily basis when I want my lashes to look longer and like they have a little something there, but not over-the-top. It doesn't flake or smudge at all, which I love. I use the regular, non-waterproof formula, but I haven't had any issues with that. I find that the formula is pretty wet, but once it dries, it looks great and doesn't smudge. I do find that it's not the most buildable mascara and it tends to clump a bit on me if I add

Too Faced 'Born This Way' Foundation Review

I have always had problems finding the perfect foundation. My skin typically tends to be dry and most foundations I've tried usually accentuate that and cling to dry spots. I read pretty mixed reviews about Too Faced's 'Born This Way' foundation but I figured I'd give it a try since I'm a pretty big fan of their products in general. This foundation changed the game for me. It provides medium but buildable coverage, and just glides on your skin like a dream. It has the most lovely feeling on the skin, I almost can't describe it. The perfect balance between matte and dewy making it look SO natural that you honestly can't tell you have foundation on. I wear the shade Nude and was matched at Sephora so it was a perfect match. (although I'll have to see about getting matched again since that was back in August and I'm sure I've lost most of my tan by now). Ever since I tried this foundation in the summer, I've worn nothing but it. It'

My 2015 Makeup and Beauty Favourites!

Hey everyone! So as 2015 comes to a close, I've gathered up all my favourite makeup products from this year into one big post! So here are the products that I loved ALL year and were my absolute favourites. I'll also be writing full reviews for each one of these products throughout the month of January for those of you who would like to know more! Too Faced Born This Way Foundation By far the best foundation I've used probably ever. I love this stuff. I have dry skin so finding a good foundation is usually pretty hard for me since it always tends to settle in a very obvious way on my skin which is not the effect I'm going for... This foundation looks so natural, and also offers great coverage. Awesome. Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara This mascara might just be my holy grail mascara. Does everything a good mascara should do; adds volume, length and curl. I probably used it almost every day this year (except for the past couple weeks because I've run ou

Review: Psychobabble with Tyler Oakley and Korey Kuhl

Long time no post! How've you all been this week? Here's hoping your week was a bit calmer than mine was... I finally found a quiet moment in my day where I could post something, and I couldn't think of anything better than to write a little review of something I've been soooo into lately. So a little backstory for you all. My phone recently died (RIP) and until I can save up enough to get myself a nice new phone, I'm using a family members old iPhone. Now since it was all very last minute, I still haven't gotten around to putting any music on it, and I NEED something to get me through long bus rides. So I decided to take up listening to podcasts, in particular, Psychobabble with Tyler Oakley and Korey Kuhl and ohhh man, am I ever glad I started listening to it. This podcast is honestly hilarious. If you're a fan of Tyler's at all, I highly highly recommend it. Just a heads up though, because I have learned this the hard way, you will very likely

Is a Shellac Manicure worth it?

Before going on vacation this summer I decided that instead of painting my nails at home, I'd treat myself to a Shellac manicure at a salon. I've never had a Shellac manicure done before, so I guess you could say that I'm behind in the times, but I finally got around to it and I honestly fell in love. So is it worth it? If you ask me, I'd say yes. It's not without downsides, but I think that the pro's grossly outweigh the con's. My nails tend to break very easily, even when I coat them with hardener, so I usually keep them somewhat short. With the shellac, my nails were so strong, and as promised, 2 weeks later and not a single chip or scratch in the polish. My nails grew out beautifully and I was so so sad to have to remove it. I would have definitely gotten more reapplied, however I can't have anything on my nails during the semester (the joys of clinicals!) Basically, it makes your nails stonger, grow out nicer, the colour looks stunning (an

Pretty Little Liars Summer Finale Review! || #FAceToFace

Warning: Contains Spoilers! Wow. 6 seasons, endless frustration and unbelievable amounts of patience later, and we finally found out who A is. From what I've seen online, a lot of people seem to be very disappointed by the reveal, and to be honest, at first, I was too. We wanted drama. We wanted heartbreak. We all wanted A to be some shocking revelation from some character we knew well and had some sort of emotional connection with, and CeCe, well, she had been gone for long, lets be honest, we kind of forgot her. We all wanted a repeat of the shock we got that time we were led to believe that Ezra was A. So yeah, at first, I was definitely disappointed. But then it got better.  Hearing CeCe's story really sold it to me. Just feeling every little storyline and unanswered question just click into place was so satisfying. I also really loved how emotional it was; and how you become aware of the fact that you're feeling bad for A even after everything the girls were p

Favourites: June 2015

I'm a bit late with this post, but better late than never :) Here are the things that I have enjoyed using throughout the month of June! Hair:  Pantene Smooth & Sleek Conditioner:  I am so in love with this stuff!! I've tried the shampoo that goes with it, and I really really did not like it AT ALL, but the conditioner is on another level. I have extremely thick and dry hair and this actually managed to smooth it and make it softer than most other conditioners I've ever tried. It also smells incredible which is a huge bonus. Skin:  Olay Fresh Effects Clear Skin Acne Hater Deep Scrub: This product has the full package; cute packaging, amazing smell and it actually WORKS. My face feels so soft and clean after using this and I've noticed that since I've been using this (once a day), my skin has been clearer than usual. Love love loveeee!! Makeup: Maybelline "The Blushed Nudes" eyeshadow palette: I've had my eye on this palette right f
