Review: Trying Out Acure Products

A little while back I was sent a lovely box of natural products from M Squared Brands (you can check out the entire haul here ). Three of the products were from Acure Organics , a brand that I definitely invite you to check out (if you haven't already!). Their range of products look incredible, and I'll definitely be picking up some more stuff from them. All their products are gluten, paraben, sulfate, phthalate, harmful preservative and artificial colour free too!   The first product of theirs that I picked up right off the bat was the Lavender Calming Body Lotion. This is such a nice lightweight moisturizer that absorbs extremely quickly. It's a great one to just throw into your handbag. I personally like to keep on my bedside table because the lavender scent is so nice and soothing to use before bed!  The Quick Fix Correcting Balm with argan oil and starflower is such a great product to use now in the winter, I've very quickly incorporated it into my daily

The Lip Pencil by BITE Beauty

Note: I received these items complimentary from Influenster and BITE Beauty for review purposes. As always, all opinions are 100% honest and my own!  Okay, real talk for a second. Lip pencils have never been my go-to makeup item. I've tried so hard to get into using lip pencils, but I really couldn't. Either they were too stiff and dragged on my lips, or I just found they didn't last and did nothing. So I was definitely intrigued to try out BITE Beauty's Lip Pencils. Could this be the product I've been looking for? I've heard such amazing things about their Amuse Bouche lipsticks, so I had high hopes that I would find similar quality in these pencils. From the first initial swatch of these, there's one thing I noticed that I've never experienced with any other lip pencils: these things are damn creamy. They apply so smoothly, it's essentially like they've repackaged a creamy lipstick into a pencil format. This does unfortunately mean tha

Colourpop 'Weenie' Super Shock Shadow (SWATCH)

This eyeshadow is so stunning on the eyes, you really have to try it to understand what I mean. I think I might have worn it every day for a week all over my lids with just a darker brown buffed into the crease. It's just so gorgeous. Colourpop's website describes this one as a "true rose gold" but it falls a bit more coppery on my skin tone I think. Its still such a pretty, satiny colour that looks even prettier when the light hits it. Definitely a must have if you're planning on ordering some shadows from Colourpop! xo

The End of Dark Circles?: VIIcode Eye Mask for Dark Circles Review!

Note: This product was sent to me for review purposes. As always, all opinions are 100% my own. I always keep it real for you all! :)  Those of you who’ve been following my blog for a while now know that my biggest skincare struggle is my under eye area. Dark circles, fine lines, puffiness, you name it, I’ve got it going on over there. I’m basically always trying out new products for that area, so when I was asked to try out the VIIcode Eye Mask for Dark Circles, I was very intrigued. I had never actually tried out an eye mask before, so I had pretty high hopes that this would make a difference for me. These are a gel formula mask that you apply to your under eyes for 8 hours two or three times a week. After having tried out a box of there (there are 6 pairs per box), I’ve actually started to notice a difference with these. A full treatment takes 3 boxes, but after 1 box, I’ve noticed my under eye area is smoother and much more hydrated. My dark circles haven’t completely

COLOURPOP HAUL!

A couple of weeks ago, I made (believe it or not), my very first Colourpop order. I put off ordering from Colourpop since International shipping can be pretty pricey, but I couldn't put it off any longer so I finally decided to pick up some things.  I wanted to try a little bit of everything I've heard a lot of hype around, so I picked up some of the Super Shock shadows, a matte liquid lipstick and a lippie stick. (Of course, with my luck, their pressed single shadows were released 2 days after I placed this order... so you know what my next order is going to be!)  The shadows I picked up were Weenie, KathleenLights, Sequin and Eye Candy. The liquid lipstick is in the shade 'Instigator' and the lippie stick is in 'Topanga'.  I put off ordering these for far too long, so I am incredibly excited to try them out and see what the hype is all about. They all look so incredibly pretty and they've got me so inspired to create gorgeous looks. I'll

DECEMBER + JANUARY EMPTIES (and reviews!)

It's time for another empties roundup! I haven't used up too many products in the past little while, so I may start doing these posts on a quarterly basis, however I do have a TON of samples I need to test out, so let me know if you'd like to see me do a big review of samples I try! Lets get into it! Rimmel 'Stay Matte' Pressed Powder : It took me ages to get through this powder, but I can honestly say its one of the best I've ever used. It's super afforable and keeps your makeup matte and in place all day. Too Faced 'Better Than Sex' Mascara : It seems I always have one of these in my empties posts, likely because it's my holy grail mascara. I've done a full review on this mascara in the past, you can read that here , but in brief, it lengthens, volumizes, and makes my lashes look unlike anything any other mascara can do. Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara: I have a full review of this mascara on my blog as well, which you can re

Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette Review

Too Faced 'Sweet Peach' Palette I initially wasn't going to review this palette since it's been out for a while now and everyone and their grandma has it and has reviewed it, but after seeing how much love I've gotten on my pictures of it on Instagram , I figured it would be worth a mention. I lusted after this palette from it's initial release last year, but I wasn't able to snag it, something I regretted for a loooong time. So you can imagine how excited I was when Too Faced brought it back. I was giddy like a little kid on Christmas morning. I picked it up on Boxing Day and I've been using it in every single eye look I've done since then, no exaggeration. I know the hype around this palette has been immense, but I think it's with good reason. Besides the fact that it's super pretty and smells like peach candy, the shadows are very pigmented, smooth and blend fantastically. What I really love about this palette is that (when I

My Current Skincare Routine! (+ Reviews)

One of my New Years resolutions this year was to get more serious about my skincare routine. In the past I've always been the type of girl who only needed a cleanser and a moisturizer and I was good to go. Now that I've been paying more attention to what my skin needs and using products catered to those needs, my skin has never been better. I have very dry skin, and struggled with dullness and sensitivity for a while as well. I thought I'd share my current skincare routine because these products have changed the game for my skin. Cleansers:  When it comes to getting my skin clean, there are 2 products I'm loving. For removing my eye makeup, I use the L'Oreal Sublime Soft Gentle Micellar Solution . This is one of the few micellar waters I've tried that both removed all my makeup effortlessly (no harsh scrubbing required!) but also doesn't sting my eyes.  For washing my face, I've been loving the Olay Fresh Effects Out of this Swirled Deep P

How to Wear ANY Shoes this Holiday Season... Painlessly!

I have a bit of a love hate relationship with heels. I have many gorgeous pairs and as much as I love how they look while on... I either end up avoiding wearing them, or switching to a pair of cozy flats by the end of the night, and I know I'm not alone on that. So when I was approached by Sole Patches to test out their product, which claimed to take away all of the discomfort of wearing heels all day, I was definitely intrigued. Of course, I wouldn't recommend a product without testing it myself thoroughly, so I put these to the test, and here's what I found:  So, first of all, what exactly are they? Sole Patches are little cushioning adhesive patches that you apply directly onto the balls or heels of your feet (or direction onto your shoes) in order to relieve that soreness you get from wearing heels for many hours. They also claim to have anti-moisture, anti-bacterial and anti-odour properties.  What I Found:  When I first saw these, I knew exactly whic

Arbonne RE9 Advanced Line Review

Disclaimer:  I was sent these products for free, for review purposes. All opinions, as always, are 100% my own! I was recently sent a sample of Arbonne's RE9 Advanced line for review, and since incorporating these in my skincare routine and thoroughly testing them out, I've been beyond excited to write this review. For those of you who are not too familiar with Arbonne, they are a botanically based, vegan brand that offer products formulated without any harsh or harmful chemicals . This is what initially intrigued me, because I've been having some skin issues lately. I have very dry, sensitive, eczema prone skin that often tends to have somewhat negative reactions to strongly scented or harsh products. So I had high hopes for these products and hoped they'd give my skin the nourishment it so craved. This line is their anti-aging line, which admittedly is not really a concern of mine, since I'm only 21 years old. However my skin is not without it's i

My Thoughts on Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life

Warning: this post will contain spoilers, so if you haven't finished it yet, don't read!!!  Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life, a 4 episode miniseries following the characters 10 years after the series finale of the show, came out a little over a week ago now. I had many mixed feelings about the revival after watching it, but I wanted to wait a little while to fully digest what I saw and be able to articulate my thoughts in a way other than AGH, NOOO, WHY???? The episodes themselves are not perfect, but they are good. They have what we loved about Gilmore Girls in the past. The humor, the drama, the complicated love story lines and the coffee. I do think each episode has something that could have been omitted (the Stars Hallow musical? The Life and Death Brigade adventure?), in order to spend more time with the characters we've missed so much. First, lets talk about what these episodes did right: The way they handled Edward Hermann's death on the show was real

HUGE Haul of Skincare Samples!

Those of you who know me know that I love a good free sample. I love buying sample sizes of products before committing to the real thing. So this is something I was VERY excited about.  Awhile back, Shopper's Drug Mart was having a Fall Beauty Bonus where with a $120 purchase of beauty products, you received a tote bag with a TON of sample sized products, primarily higher end skincare.  Personally, I like to save up my Optimum points for events like these.  I haven't gotten around to trying any of these products yet (because God knows, I have enough products to try that I'm covered for a lifetime), but I thought I'd post about what was included in the bag and see if there are any products in particular you'd like me to review first!  Here's what I got!  Clinique City Block Purifying Charcoal Cleansing Gel (I'm super excited to try this one out!) Benefit Gimme Brow Eyebrow Gel Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery C

October Favourites!

It's November! Hi everyone! I apologize for my little break from the blogging world. I needed to put my focus 100% on my midterms, but now that those have been conquered, I'm back and excited to share what I have been loving all throughout the month of October! October is my favourite month, mostly because it's my birthday month, but it has my absolute favourite weather as well. I am SO happy to be able to be wearing my huge cozy sweaters again. Nyx Lip Lingerie in 'Ruffle Trim' The amount of times I've been complimented on this lip colour blows my mind. It's a really pretty warm brown nude, which used to be somewhat out of my comfort zone, but I've been loving it lately. Maybelline Fit me! Matte and Poreless face powder Once my Rimmel Stay Matte powder ran out, I really needed a good, new mattifying powder, so I decided to give this one a shot. I'm not too sure if I like it more than the Rimmel one, but it makes my skin look so smooth an

Polysporin Eczema Essentials Vs. Aveeno Eczema Care

Those of you who have been around my blog for a while now know that I'm pretty much addicted to Aveeno's Eczema Care hand cream. I've gone through at least 6 tubes of this and it's pretty much my favourite non steroid treatment for the eczema on my hands. When I was going to the drugstore the other day to pick up a new one of my Aveeno ones, and I saw that Polysporin had an eczema cream as well, which I was pretty curious about. I liked that it came in a bigger tube, which is a huge benefit considering how quickly I go through my Aveeno one. I'm always a bit hesitant when I try a new eczema cream because I find that not many of them have the right balance. They're either way too thick and greasy, or just so thin that my skin absorbs it in milliseconds and feels as thought I applied nothing. Here's the thing that I find pretty interesting: When you compare the ingredients in both these products, they are almost 100% identical, in the same order. So I

i on Beauty Makeup Brush Review!

I picked up some brushes from the brand i on Beauty a while back and I really wanted to write about them because I feel like I've never heard anyone talk about these before, which is such a shame because they're such great brushes! The brushes themselves have super soft, synthetic bristles which feel so nice on the face and don't shed at all. They've held up perfectly after several washes too, so for affordable brushes, I'm really impressed with them. They have sturdy bamboo handles, which I personally really like. They aren't the flashiest brushes in my collection, but they do the job well. My favourite of them all definitely has to be the Blusher brush, which I personally use for face powder. It's big and fluffy which is exactly what I like for setting powder. I picked mine up at Winners, and they were super affordable. You can also pick them up on Amazon from what I can see. I highly recommend them, especially for those of you who don't have m
