Foundation Friday: Maybelline 'Dream Velvet' Foundation

For this week's Foundation Friday, I'm going to be talking about Maybelline's Dream Wonder foundation which I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with. I was initially very drawn to it, despite the very mixed reviews I had read/watched, because of the claims the product made. I really did have to try it for myself. If you are new to my blog and these reviews, I have dry and somewhat sensitive skin, which tends to complicate the process of finding good drugstore foundations. The Claims Hydrating, matte formula Gel-whipped consistency Ideal for normal to combination skin Medium coverage Soft matte finish The Results -I'm not quite sure if this product was really hydrating. In fact, I think the better word would be oily . I have dry skin, and after a few hours of wearing this product (and setting it with a mattifying powder!), I found myself becoming oily. -On application, it did give a really nice soft matte finish. -It had a really cool whipped gel consi

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector® Opal "Glow On The Go"

Hey everyone! I picked up the Becca "Glow on the Go" set the other day when I ordered some things from Sephora and I thought I'd show it to you all! So what this little set contains is 2 travel size versions of their Shimmering Skin Perfector in the shade 'Opal' in both liquid and pressed form. These products have been so raved about for SO long, but I never actually gave them a try. So I figured, what better way to give it a try than with a smaller size. Personally, I love picking up travel size products because they really are so much more convenient when I'm on the go.  Now when they say these are travel size, they mean it. They are SMALL. I was a little bit surprised at how small they were, especially the pressed powder because it seemed to be similar in size to a deluxe-sized sample. The product itself though, as many of you know, is very pretty. It will be sooo pretty when I'm a bit more tanned during these summer months. If you're

Sephora Collection: My Beauty Notebooks: Eye, Face & Lip Palettes

Hi everyone! So I was browsing the Sephora website not too long ago, and of course, I couldn't help myself! One of the things I ordered were the Sephora Collection "My Beauty Notebooks". They are limited edition (and on sale right now!) and I couldn't resist picking them up. So these are 3 seperate palettes for the eyes, lips and face that look like little notebooks! They are super cute and the shadows in them are so incredibly functional. You can use them for natural, every day looks or for a more glamorous night time look. So the first palette is called Daily Chic and includes:  - 6 neutral eyeshadows - 2  Lip glosses  -  A Blush  -  A Bronzer  Next we have the Working It Palette which includes:  - 8 really wearable eyeshadows - 2 Highlighters And then the Ready For Tonight Palette which has:  - 6 bold eyeshadows - 2 Lip glosses  - A Blush  - A Bronzer If you're someone who loves their natural looking eyeshadows and don't need super colour

BH Cosmetics 28 Color "Smokey Eye" Palette

Hi everyone! So not too long ago I picked up the BH Cosmetics 28 color Smokey Eye palette and I knew I had to post about it on here because I am so excited about it and I can't wait to play around with it more because, I mean, look at it... The variety of shades in the palette allows you to create so many different kinds of looks. This palette was super affordable (I picked it up for $15) which I think is a fantastic value for the amount of shadows you're getting. Obviously the quality is not on par with more professional, high-end brands, but I was actually quite impressed with the quality of these shadows. The pigmentation is really good and I found them to be easy to blend and work with. I do recommend using them with a good eyeshadow primer or base (I use the Essence 'I Love Stage' eyeshadow base) which will hugely intensify the pigmentation and lasting power of the shadows. I am super in love with the purple shadows in the palette. They are so so pretty

Foundation Review Friday: Physician's Formula 'Touch of Glow' Foundation

Now that it's summer, I'm on the hunt for that glow . As much as I love my many matte or semi-matte foundations, I'd definitely like a foundation that offers a nice dewy, glowy finish. I have dry skin, so I'm not too afraid of venturing into more hydrating or luminous foundations. So that is when I purchased the Physician's Formula 'Touch of Glow' Foundation from their Nude Wear line. Let's be honest here, the main thing that would attract you to this foundation is probably the adorable packaging. It's pink and rose gold and has a little bow on it. Yeah, I was sold. Was it worth it, though? The Claims  Weightless Illuminating and radiant "Just the right amount of coverage"  Virtually undetectable on skin One pump of product is the perfect amount It is also h ypoallergenic, paraben free, gluten free, dermatologist approved, non-comedogenic and fragrance free.  The Facts I did find it to be pretty weightless on my sk

June Favourites!

Is it just me, or did this month go by unbelievably fast? I cannot believe June is already over! This month was great for me in terms of beauty and makeup. I've tried a lot of new products, found tons of new favourites, and I've started testing out lots of new products to review soon! However, there can only be so many products in my monthly favourites, so here are the ones that were the best of the best for me this month! Interestingly enough, all my favourites this month are from the drugstore, so not only are they great products, but they're also affordable! L'Oreal Lumi Liquid Glow Illuminator in 'Ice' I was on the hunt for a good drugstore highlighter and let me tell you right now: the selection isn't huge. I was pretty drawn to the L'Oreal Lumi line and I picked up one of their Liquid Glow Illuminators in the shade 'Ice'. I'm planning on doing a full review on this product very soon, so I won't say much now but I will say th

Foundation Review Friday: Covergirl 'Ready Set Gorgeous' Foundation

So many drugstore foundations get a lot of hype on the internet, but I feel like Covergirl's 'Ready Set Gorgeous' foundation never really got much attention. I guess I can understand why; packaging wise, it isn't exactly the most intriguing. There's nothing necessarily wrong with it, but I feel the plastic and bright pink on it may make you think twice about it. Which I think is a shame, because this is a truly fantastic foundation. I myself am guilty of judging the foundation by it's packaging. In fact, I probably wouldn't have even tried it if it wasn't on sale. Even once I did, I didn't even have the highest expectations for it. Of course, I was pleasantly surprised. The claims-  Oil-free formula Medium coverage to give a natural, flawless look The facts-  Here is what I found with this foundation: It comes in 12 different shades This foundation gives about a medium coverage, that is buildable without becoming cake
